Bookend is involved in a wide range of projects, many of which our camera person and media producer, Ninna Millikin, documents. Below is a brief introduction to some of our smaller projects, with more content coming to this page in the coming months. Also check out our larger documentaries, Acid Seas and Lost Hollows and Sharks, Devils and You.
- Bookend supported the Macquarie Island Pest Eradication Project of Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service with a Media Officer. Ninna provided support to the communications plan of the eradication project, writing and photo editing the project newsletter, Macquarie Dispatch, and researching and writing web and hard copy information sheets and the FAQ.
- Bookend has joined Roaring 40’s Wind farms to produce a CD of Tasmanian Aboriginal leader Hank Horton talking about his totem and his people’s dreamtime story of the Wedge Tail Eagle. The CD will be included in an education kit for teachers across Tasmania.
- Bookend partnered in bringing internationally renowned sustainability artist Chris Jordan on a week-long public speaking tour of Tasmania. The Bookend Trust’s Ninna Millikin filmed Chris throughout his tour in order to produce a series of short web-based documentaries. For further information on Chris Jordan’s work see www.chrisjordan.com
- Bookend has joined Understorey Network to produce a documentary profiling landowners involved in a project to revegetate private land on Bruny Island, creating habitat for threatened bird species such as the Swift Parrot and 40 Spotted Pardalote.
